Mavel provided mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment for ENEL spa´s new 990 kW Posada hydroelectric power plant on the Cedrino River in Sardinia, Italy. Mavel provided one Francis turbine, generator, electric and control systems and supervision for installation, testing and commissioning. The plant commenced operation in 2006. Mavel provided one 900 kW Francis turbine for the new Moinhos hydroelectric power plant on the Castelo River, 10 kilometers southeast of Nelas, Portugal. Mavel’s scope also included related electrical and hydraulic equipment as well as supervision of installation, testing and commissioning. The Mavel, a.s./ABB Inc. consortium was contracted by Istmus Hydro Power Corp. to provide the mechanical and electrical equipment for this 10 MW greenfield hydro project in Panama on the Piedro River in the Chiriqui Province. Mavel’s portion of the delivery included the hydraulic design, two horizontal FSH1050 Francis turbines, generators, hydraulic equipment and supervision for the installation and commissioning.
